Translation of Taiwan amendment of “Safety Guidelines for Cosmetics for Children”

On August 17, 2022, Taiwan FDA issued Circular No. 1111608018, revising the safety guidelines for children’s cosmetics.

For cosmetics that are expressly or impliedly intended for use by children, the following articles should be noted:

Under foreseeable circumstances, it should be healthy and safe for children under normal use, usage and dosage.

The ingredients with safe use history should be used first, and the use of flavors, fragrances, colors and preservatives should be reduced.

For children under 3 years old, the microbial count should be below 100 CFU/g or CFU/mL, and Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans should not be detected.
